You can find the wine-estate
“Domaine du Coriançon “ on the sunny hills
of Vinsobres, a village lying between Nyons and Vaison la Romaine.
François Vallot the owner, fourth generation winemaker,
has been responsible for the wine-estate since July 1976.
He has continued his father’s policy; a careful choice
of grape varieties enabling the production of vintage quality
wines. |
| Between Tradition & Modernity |
The system
of vats has been adapted, the equipment for wine making (vinification)
has been modernised, a system of temperature control has been
installed to enable a better control of fermentation and maceration
, a storage building with oak barrels has been installed,
all this to be able to continue the traditional methods of
our ancestors, with the advantage of using modern materials.
With the object of enabling the wine to be produced, to mature,
to grow, in a natural way following the seasons with just
the essential care to guide and personalise the wine. The
vineyards are ploughed and cultivated according to biodynamic
principles, in harmony and balance with nature, taking into
account the influence of the movement of the moon and the
planets on the plants, certified by Ecocert, mention Demeter.
This care exercised by a qualified staff leads to a harvest
of high quality grapes, the necessary basis to create vintage
quality wines.

| The vineyards, the terroir |
| The vineyards,
extending over 31 hectares, are situated on terraces on the
hills of Vinsobres, upon old alluvial lands, consisting of
soft chalky rocks with stones. It is the most privileged part
of Vinsobres orientated East-West with a maximum level of
sunlight and sheltered by the hills from the Mistral (the
dominant north wind) and the influences of the Alpes.
The special microclimate of this region is Mediterranean,
mild winters and hot summers softened by a local wind the
“Pontias” which takes away any mist. For this
reason only four treatments a year are necessary, without
any use of chemical products. |
